Ocular IQ Home Solar 22kW: The Three Phase EV Charger That Runs on Your Solar
The Ocular IQ Home Solar 22kW is a three phase EV charger that tracks what your solar is making and sends the surplus into your car instead of back to the grid. Three CT clamps come in the box, the app is free, and once your electrician has it set up there's nothing to fiddle with.

Your actual charging speed is capped by your car's onboard AC charger, and many EVs can't take the full 22kW. Check your car's AC charging rating before you buy.

How the IQ Three Phase EV Charger Uses Your Solar
The CT clamps sit on your incoming supply and measure what your home is exporting. The charger matches its charging rate to that surplus. More sun, faster charging. Cloud comes over, it slows down.
Fast
Full speed from solar or grid, limited only by any current limit set on a schedule or at installation.
Solar Assist
Charges at a minimum of 6A plus any excess solar, topping up from the grid when solar is low. Ocular's recommended mode for solar homes, and the best pick if you have a home battery that soaks up excess solar first.
Solar Only
Charges only from excess solar. It needs at least 7A of surplus to start, pauses if solar drops below 6A, and restarts after about 2 to 3 minutes back above 7A.
Ocular IQ Home Three Phase Charger with Load Balancing
The same CT clamps tell the charger what your whole house is pulling, checked every second. When the oven, aircon or hot water kicks in, the charger drops its current until the load eases, then ramps back up. That means you can run a 22kW charger without tripping your main breaker.
Cable or Socket: Which Variant
5m Type 2 cable
Cable permanently attached. Park, plug in, walk away. Best for a dedicated garage or carport bay.
Type 2 socket
No fixed cable. You supply your own Type 2 to Type 2 charging lead in the length that suits. Tidier on the wall and handy for a shared driveway.

Installation
This charger needs a three phase power supply and must be installed by a licensed electrician to AS/NZS 3000. Ocular recommends a dedicated circuit with a 40A Type A RCBO. The three CT clamps go on the incoming supply at your switchboard and the signal leads run back to the charger, so mention the distance when you book your sparky. Only use the Ocular CT clamps supplied, as other clamps will give wrong readings and void the warranty.
Warranty
2 year manufacturer's warranty. Optional extended warranty adds up to 3 more years, for up to 5 years in total. Warranty depends on installation following Ocular's instructions.
