Balancing machines for workshops that balance all day
There is a whole category of cheap wheel balancers on the Australian market and we have deliberately stopped stocking that end of it. The reason is simple: a balancer that needs two or three spins to settle on an answer, and a second pass to verify it, costs you more in labour across a year than the machine saved you at purchase. On a workshop doing twenty wheels a day, that is the entire price difference inside eighteen months.
What is on this page is the professional end. Beissbarth and Ranger machines built to give you a correct answer on the first spin, every time, for years.
What you are paying for
First spin accuracy
The measurement is the product. A machine that gets it right first time turns a balance into a ninety second job instead of a four minute one, and it means the wheel that goes back on the car actually is balanced rather than close enough.
Data entry speed
Manually dialling in rim width, diameter and offset for every wheel is dead time repeated hundreds of times a month. Automatic and 3D data entry removes it, and it removes the operator error that comes with it.
Weight placement
Knowing where to put the weight, precisely, first time. Laser spot indication puts the position on the rim in front of the operator instead of leaving them to estimate it.
Repeatability under load
Any balancer is accurate when it is new and used twice a week. The difference shows up at three years and forty wheels a day.
The technologies on this page
Standard dynamic balancing
Measures imbalance in two planes and tells you the weight and position for each. This is the baseline for any workshop balancer and what the Beissbarth G.20 and G.50 do, the G.50 built for higher volume.
Sonar and 3D laser spot
The Ranger LS45DS uses sonar and 3D measurement to take the guesswork out of data entry, and laser spot to show the operator exactly where the weight goes.
Diagnostic balancing
The Beissbarth G.60P Pro is the top of the range and it does something the others do not. It diagnoses. When a customer comes back with a vibration that a normal balance did not fix, the problem is usually not weight distribution at all. It is the tyre, the rim, or how the two are seated together. A diagnostic machine identifies which, so you can fix the actual fault instead of adding weight and hoping.
For a workshop that deals with vibration complaints on high value vehicles, this is the machine that ends the comeback cycle. For a workshop that does not, it is more machine than the work requires. That is an honest distinction and worth a phone call before you spend.
What it needs from your workshop
Power
Check the requirement on the individual machine. Some run single phase, others need three phase. Confirm what is at your wall before ordering.
Space and floor
Allow room to handle a wheel on and off the shaft comfortably, not just the machine's footprint. Most bolt to the slab.
Guard clearance
Balancers with a hood need overhead clearance for it to swing up. Worth checking against a low ceiling or a mezzanine.
Pair it with the right changer
A fast balancer behind a slow tyre changer just moves the queue. If you are specifying both together, or replacing one and thinking about the other, the wheel service equipment overview covers how to match them, and the tyre changer range is here.
Truck and bus
Heavy vehicle wheels need a different machine. The Ranger RB30T handles everything from OTR down to passenger, and the rest of the heavy gear is on the truck wheel service page.
Common questions
Do you stock entry level balancers?
Not currently. We concentrated the range on machines we are happy to put our name and our lifetime support behind, and at the budget end we were not. If your volume genuinely suits a basic machine, call us and we will tell you straight rather than sell you something oversized.
Can I finance a balancer?
Yes, and for a capital purchase that pays back in labour time it usually makes more sense than cash. See equipment finance.
What is diagnostic balancing?
It identifies why a wheel will not balance, rather than only telling you where to add weight. Useful when a customer returns with a vibration that a standard balance did not resolve.
How is it delivered?
Pallet freight with forklift or tailgate access required. See installation options.
Do you deliver Australia wide?
Yes, free delivery Australia wide, with a price match guarantee. Call 1300 405 581.
